T h e  s t o r y
Each year, Maranatha receives more than a hundred requests for church and school buildings from countries spanning the entire globe. From Grenada to Colombia to Namibia and Taiwan, thousands of Adventists without a place of worship are asking for our help.

The $10 Church program helps to fulfill this need by encouraging thousands of people to contribute just $10 a month towards a fund which sponsors the construction of one church a month. Since 1988, this special program has sponsored over 135 churches-seating for more than 25,000 people who now have a place to worship.

How it started
In 1879 a church congregation in Michigan wanted to build a new place of worship, but had no money. After some thought, they decided to have each member set aside just one dime each week for the new church.

This strategy not only provided a new church, but also built a strong community as everyone worked together to provide the needed funds. The Dime Tabernacle, as this project came to be known, was an example of the power collaboration brings about. The $10 Church is based on the same concept.

How it works
Each month, Maranatha designates one church project to be the recipient of the money raised through The $10 Church. Occasionally, Maranatha receives enough to fund two churches. Program membership continues to steadily increase as people of all ages are joining together to make a difference.

How you can help
Sign up to join The $10 Church by email or calling (916) 920-1900. You will then receive a welcome packet to the program with instructions on how to send in your contributions. You can choose to join as a family, class, church youth group, with friends, or just on your own. People from all over the world have come up with creative ways to raise $10 a month.
